Welcome to Acupuncture Aesthetics
Rejuvenate your skin with cosmetic facial acupuncture – a natural, holistic treatment that reduces fine lines, boosts collagen, and promotes a youthful, radiant appearance.
What is Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture?
Cosmetic facial acupuncture is a natural, holistic and minimally-invasive treatment designed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Using techniques that have been practiced for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it not only enhances overall well-being but also targets the visible signs of aging. Small, very fine, needles are inserted into the skin on the face as well other areas of the body (feet / lower legs, hands and ear).
Cosmetic facial acupuncture works by increasing blood circulation in the face, which increases oxygen flow to the skin, nourishing it and aiding in the removal of cellular waste. Micro-trauma to the skin, from needling, promotes the production of new collagen and elastin, improving skin tone and elasticity, and helping to maintain a youthful appearance. Facial acupuncture has also been shown to increase oil and water content in the skin, improving the skin and complexion.
As acupuncture also stimulates the autonomic nervous system, the non-facial points used can help promote healthy digestion, reduce stress levels and improve sleep quality – all of these contribute to a healthier appearance of the skin as well as promote general well-being.
What to expect
Step one: Appointment confirmation
You will be emailed prior to your appointment and asked to complete a Registration and Health Screening form online.
Step two: Asssessment
At your first appointment, an assessment will be carried out and a discussion takes place as to which areas of the face you would like to improve.
Step three: Treatment
Needles may be used in body points (feet, lower legs, hands and ear) to aid relaxation, harmonise your internal organs and support the facial treatment.
Extremely fine needles are placed on specific points on the face, forehead and under the chin to create micro-punctures in the skin surface, eliciting the benefits explained above. The needles will be left in place for approximately 20 minutes while you relax.
Step four: Future sessions
You may notice the benefits of facial acupuncture after 1 - 3 sessions however the effects become most noticeable and last longer after 6 - 12 treatments. We offer individual sessions as well as 6 session packages that provide discounted prices.
